At Forest Pathways OT, I provide occupational therapy services for children and young people with SEND/ALN, supporting participation, independence, and preparation for adulthood across education, home, and community settings.

All services are tailored to the needs of the child or young person, family, education setting, or organisation. Fees reflect assessment time, report writing, and professional expertise.

I provide functional sensory processing assessments to understand how sensory differences may be impacting a child or young person’s daily life.

This includes exploring how sensory preferences and sensitivities influence:

  • Learning and engagement

Sensory Processing Assessments & Support

Classroom or setting-based audit with practical recommendations to support accessibility and regulation.

Fee: £180 – £300

Follow-up / Coaching Session:

Parent or staff support session to embed strategies and build confidence.

This assessment explores sensory processing as it relates to functional participation and daily activities. It is not a standardised Ayres Sensory Integration assessment, but is grounded in occupational therapy practice and clinical reasoning.

I assess how vision is used functionally within everyday tasks, learning environments, and routines, and how this may impact access, participation, and engagement.

This service may include:

  • Functional assessment of how visual skills are used in everyday activities

  • Observation and analysis informed by current understanding of visual processing differences (including CVI-informed approaches)

  • Exploration of how visual factors impact learning, movement, self-care, and regulation

  • Environmental adaptations (lighting, contrast, layout, positioning)

  • Visual support and access recommendations

  • Clear, practical written guidance for staff and families

This service is particularly valuable for learners with complex needs, neurodivergent profiles, or unexplained learning or access differences.

This assessment focuses on the functional use of vision in everyday activities and does not provide a medical diagnosis. It does not replace assessment by Optometry or Orthoptics. Any concerns regarding visual health or eyesight should be referred to appropriate medical professionals.

I assess posture and positioning within functional tasks to support comfort, attention, access to learning, and physical wellbeing.

This service may include:

  • Functional postural assessment within classroom, seating, and activity contexts

  • Education-focused postural support recommendations

  • Positioning guidance for learning and daily activities

  • Equipment and environmental recommendations to support access and participation

  • Liaison with education staff and MDT where appropriate

This service supports learners with physical, neurological, or complex needs and is informed by principles of postural care within everyday environments.

  • Practical strategies that can be embedded into classroom routines

Hand Function & Fine Motor Skills

Targeted Intervention Block:

A block of individual sessions focused on developing functional hand skills and supporting participation in everyday activities.

Includes:

  • 4 individual intervention sessions

  • Individualised strategies and progression

Fee: £360 – £480

I support learners who experience physical, cognitive, or sensory fatigue that affects participation and engagement in everyday activities.

This service may include:

  • Functional assessment of fatigue and its impact on daily tasks and learning

  • Analysis of sensory, physical, and cognitive demands within environments

  • Pacing, rest, and workload management strategies

  • Timetable and task adaptation recommendations

  • Guidance for staff and families to support sustainable participation

This service is particularly relevant for neurodivergent learners, those with complex needs, or individuals with fluctuating energy levels.

Fatigue & Energy Management

This service focuses on the functional impact of fatigue in everyday activities and does not provide medical diagnosis. Any concerns regarding underlying health conditions should be discussed with appropriate healthcare professionals.

Transition, Independence & Preparation for Adulthood

I support young people through key transitions, including preparation for adulthood and increased independence across home, education, and community settings.

This service may include:

  • Functional assessment of independence in daily living skills (ADLs)

  • Consideration of sensory processing, posture, fatigue, and vision in everyday activities

  • Learner-centred goal setting

  • Clear transition planning aligned with EHCP outcomes

  • Attendance at transition or review meetings

Preparation for Work & Vocational Readiness

I assess functional readiness for work in relation to everyday tasks and environments, supporting young people to develop the skills and strategies needed for vocational settings.

This service may include:

  • Functional assessment of work-related skills

  • Analysis of sensory, physical, and fatigue demands within work environments

  • Consideration of postural needs and endurance in task performance

  • Functionally informed reasonable adjustment recommendations

  • Support with routines, independence, and role expectations

This service supports learners moving into supported internships, college-to-work pathways, or employment.

Practical guidance for the young person, family, or staff to support successful transition into work environments.

Fee: £90 – £120 per hour

Suitable for college-to-work pathways, supported internships and employment planning.

Consultancy & Service Development

I provide consultancy to support organisations in developing high-quality, consistent, and accessible occupational therapy-informed practice.

This may include:

  • Service audits and quality review

  • Development of sensory processing and functional access pathways

  • Environmental design informed by functional sensory and visual needs (including CVI-informed approaches)

  • Staff training and supervision frameworks

  • MDT integration and service alignment

  • Support with inspection preparation and quality improvement planning

Consultancy day rate: £400 – £800

Monthly retainer (ongoing support): £600 – £2,000
